GSN's Urgent Action Network is a group of people willing to respond quickly, by fax, email or letter, to protect people in Guatemala whose lives or physical safety are in danger.
We regularly receive appeals from organisations in Guatemala, and from Amnesty International, including details of the individual/s concerned, some information about the situation, recommendations of what to include in the appeal and how to word it, and contact details of government officials to whom appeals should be addressed.
Our Urgent Action Co-ordinator forwards these appeals to people in the network, roughly once a month, although by their nature they do not arrive at regular intervals.
To join GSN's Urgent Action Network, send your details to us here. We will send you an email whenever there is a need for letters, faxes or emails in response to a new threat against a human rights activist or organisation in Guatemala.
